Default New listings & Featured listings

I have asked this in the past for version 3 but now I am version 4, the previous method does not seem to work.

What I want to acheive is this:

1) A table on my home page that lists the 10 newest listings like so: title, county( state), view listing

2) My featured listings currently display a photo, the title and then price. I would like to change the price to county (state).

If anyone could help me acheive this I would be grateful.

Perhaps you should post what you had before that worked. Asking someone to make something from scratch for you and without knowing how you want to have it displayed is asking quite a lot.

For example, when I add the new listings on the homepage I get the following error:

Notice: Query failed: Unknown column 'p.id' in 'field list' SQL: SELECT p.id, p.owner, p.title, p.featured, p.section, p.description, p.price, p.dateadded, p.expiration, p.pHighlighted, p.pBold, u.state, u.city, u.country FROM class_products AS p LEFT JOIN class_users AS u ON p.owner = u.id WHERE p.expiration > NOW() AND p.display = 'Y' ORDER BY p.dateadded DESC LIMIT 8 in /home/horse5/public_html/includes/classes/database/mysql.php on line 143

The database tables have changed from V3 to V4, that much I can tell you. Aside from that your not giving anyone enough details as to what or how your doing it to offer any specific advice on a solution.

Hi,

Sorry I am a bit hopeless with all these things!! I basically followed the instructions on the two threads I posted above to alter the files: functions.new_listings.php and function.feature_listings_horizontal.php files . In version 3 I simply pasted the following codes in to my home template:

Featured listings:

{feature_listings_horizontal number=16 cols=4 table_attr='width="100%" style="border: none;"' td_attr='valign="middle" align="left"'}

This displayed a nice table with 16 featured listings (4x4). The information that was included was the photograph, the title of the advert, the county(state) and then a link "view listing"

New listings:

{new_listings number=10 table_attr='width="100%" style="border: none;"' td_attr='valign="middle" align="left"' img_break="<br />"}

This displayed the 10 most recent listings in a table. There were no pictures in this list, just the title, the county and a "view listing" link.

Now when I put in the code for new listings in the home.tpl file I get the database error message I posted above. Featured listings show but display the photograph, title and price. I don't use the price field at all so have deleted it for now. I am just confused as to why I had it working perfectly before, exactly how I wanted it and now that I have upgraded it no longer works?

Your probably still using the old plugin. You will have to make sure you are using the new plugins that came with V4.
