Hi all,

have come across a bug in V4.0.3 which is seriously affecting our live site

The people that have paid for featured listings (in an otherwise free classifieds site) have problems with their ads....

1: basically, featured / paid for adverts periodically go offline. Roughly 2-3 times per day.

2: Each time they go offline, the same 'New Order' email is sent to us, with the same Order Number repeated.

3: When this happens, the order status is set to 'Pending Payment' so the advert goes offline.

At the moment, with our live V4, we're constantly monitoring the site and re-activating these adverts. We've checked... and it's NOT the users modifying etc. etc.

Could it be linked to the same thanks.php and paypal sr problems?

I'll echo this - this is a massive problem for us and only happens with the paypal process - suzkaw even mentioned that he has experienced this error (at least the multiple email send) in the paypal.php thread.

The 4.0.2 paypal sr.php did not work, the 4.0.3 paypal sr.php works from the user's perspective but keeps repeatedly sending random order confirmations via email (which takes the associated listing offline (as described above)).

I need to stress that this is only happening for paypal orders - and we are sometimes receving blank order emails which I assume is related to people bailing midway through the paypal process, leaving the order only partially formed.

This is affecting our revenue - please fix as a priority!

Tim,

This could be an issue with the Paypal file. I believe if your server does not communicate back with paypal during the initial ipn then it sends a new ipn once everyday. I can't be certain this is the cause but it could be happening.

I also attached an updated paypal file to this post which I would recommend trying:

No that file was added yesterday after the v4.0.3 release.
