Default Featured Listings

Hello - I have two questions reagrding featured ads.

1. How many are allowed per category?

2. What happens if the number of featured ads is exceeded?

I am assuming that the featured ads are unlimited and they just go into rotation. Or maybe they just continue to populate the page, adding rows.

Thanks for the help!

When you create an ad package you specify if the package can have featured ads and can even set the package to charge more for people to make an ad featured.

There is no limit to the number of featured ads you can have.

When you speak of rotation I assume you are talking about the ads displayed on the home page. These are simply pulled up and displayed at random regardless of the category they are in.

This is interesting.

If a customer pays for a featured ad I'd think they would assume that it is to be 'featured' on the homepage. However, if only a limited number of ads are being pulled - and randomly at that - then they might legitimately feel that they are paying only for the chance of being featured.

Hmmmmmm.

You can set how many featured ads are displayed by modifying the smarty feature_listing_horizontal value in the template.

You could always change the number of featured listings pulled out to a larger number so they are all displayed always.
