Default Search form - cannot remove countries and states

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
V4.1.10 Developer

What template are you using?
Neo2 Blue from 68 Classifieds Templates & Modules

My Website: www.flogitoff.net

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:

Hello.

I was having a few problems with my search form. Originally it was showing my userlist in the "State" field. I re-uploaded all of the php files and went through the setup of 68 classifieds again as I was told to. This fixed that error.

However, I cannot for the life of me work out how to remove the "United States" from the country drop down menu on the search form. Being an Australian Based site I do not want any other country other than Australia. Even when I disabled being able to select which country to search for, I am still left with "North Carolina" in my State drop down menu.

Can anyone help me with removing them?

Thanks,

Adam

These are two different things. It seems that you may not understand some basic functionality of how the system works.

The "Countries" list comes from the countries table in the database. You can edit the countries in the table within the admin. Admin/settings/edit Countries.

When searching, both the "City" and the "State" fields come from actual listings that have been made. By default, the admin "user" has the "State" of "North Carolina" and a "City" of "Belmont" so if as the admin you have created any listing, both the City of Belmont and the State of North Carolina will show in search.

AHHHH!! You are my hero, thank you!

I have been sitting here going through settings for hours trying to work this out..

I did read somewhere on here that you cannot search a city or state unless there has been a listing posted (which helped me sort out the state issue)..

But I could not work out how to remove USA from the countries no matter how many times I tried to do it through the Admin control panel..

Just changed the settings on my admin user account and voila! Gone! lol..

Such a simple fix. Looks like I need to do some reading on how this system works. Do you have any good links or should I just read through the documentation on here?

Thanks again.

We've all gone through that "AHA" moment. Even though I've been working with 68C now for over 3 years, I still have some of those moments!

I would certainly recommend going through all of the online documentation from the Support link above. I also run a blog that has many useful articles with tips, tricks and what have you. Although it isn't "documentation" per s, many have found these to be enlightening and I have received literally hundreds of emails and comments of praise for them. Link is in my signature.
