Default Problem Posting Pictures!

Hey Guys,

I'm not sure what happened but I was editing a few things in the checkout folder (template), especially Step5 because I wanted to remove some variables.

But ever since I edited some files in those folders, I wasn't able to upload pictures in the placing an ad procedure. Everything goes fine, it uploads but when I publish the ad, the image isn't there! But when I goto the control panel, and manually add the image in the ad, it works. Kinda stumped here.

Any suggestions would be REAL useful.

I've did that. And it didn't work. Then I restored all my files in the public_html, and still hasn't worked. Any other suggestions?

Ok heres exactly whats going on. Steps 1 - 3 is fine then step 4, to add pics. I type in a title, browse for a pic to upload. I click Add Image, I get a pop up showing me that its uploading and as soon as its finished, it takes me straight to step 5. It doesn't confirm that the image has been successfully uploaded or if i would even like to add another pic. I click back on images to see if anythings been added, it still says 0-4 for pictures. Then I try it again, which brings me to step 5 again and instead of going back I click confirm and i get the listenings preview, but it says theres no pic.

Thanks, any suggestions would be helpful.

Andjust to make sure, this is the latest beta version of V4.1 correct?

Is your browser showing any javascript errors? The site uses javascript if im not mistaken to refresh the page and show current images uploaded etc. If the javascript didnt get uploaded properly or your security/firewall settings are such that the javascript cant do this it may account for what you are seeing.

Yes - it is the latest version.

There are no javascript errors that occur doing this process. After I type in a title and browse an image from my computer, an uploading screen pops up and then automatically goes to the next page (Step 5).

It usually shows what images were uploaded, and asks you to proceed onto the next step, not happening anymore!

I restored ALL my files in public_html as well as the MYSQL database and no luck. Could there be any files in the home directory that can interfere with the images being uploaded? Or is there any settings that I haven't seen before in administration section that disables/enables image posting?

There isnt any settings that should be affecting this. If you want to create a test user on your site, PM me the login details for the user and the site URL I can try and place an ad and least determine if its a client side issue or server side.

It's most likely on the server side. I've tried this, three of my friends tried it and still no luck. Is there any other thing you can think of that's creating this problem? Restored every single file in the public_html, and it should work, no?

It should work as longas your ftp application isnt trashing any files.

Ive done multiple ad placements on beta 4 and have not had any problems.

Hmm, where do the files get stored once a user has uploaded them? I just skimmed through the whole ftp and couldn't find it.

And that could be part of the problem.

Whan any file is uploaded via HTML form its stored temporarily in a location defined byt the pnp.ini file. Once there, the original uploaded file copied and resized to a thumbnail and that is stored in /thumbs and another copy is made and resized to your admin settings and stored in /photos.

Both /thumbs and /photos should have a permission of 777 and your server should have a temp space already defined to hold html uploaded files. You may need to contact your host about that.
