Angry How to change $ to euro symbol

So how do I change the dollar to euro symbol in the regional settings in admin ?

As I have an old keyboard it is not on the keys.
I tried it with ALT 0128 and that seems to work in the currency field (for a while). A eurosymbol pops up but when I view the ads on my site later I get this: before the amount.

Default RE:

I typed it directly into the field 'Currency Symbol' and the euro appears on the listings but now the comma that I use in stead of a decimal moves two places to the right so instead of typing 3,50 it now is 350 which is of course not the intention.

The dollar symbol in admin pannel /settings/regionalsettings shows default in the field after installation so it may be logical to suppose the euro also pops up after choosing another language, in my case Dutch,

What do I have to change here in this file called: dutch.php ?

// Set the PHP locale to Dutch
setlocale(LC_ALL, 'nl_NL@euro', 'nl_NL', 'nl', 'nl');
//setlocale(LC_ALL, 'de_DE@euro', 'de_DE', 'de', 'ge');

// Language Info
define("LANG_CURRENCY_CODE", "EUR"); //[USD,GBP,JPY,CAD,EUR]
define("LANG_NAME","Dutch");
define("LANG_CHARSET_CODE","UTF-8");
define("LANG_CHARSET_MAIL_CONTENT_TYPE","text/plain");
define("LANG_CHARSET","text/html; charset=" . LANG_CHARSET_CODE);

Did I overlook something and how does this file interact with the rest of the software and are there more files which I have to modify ?

Boy, life was much easier some thirty years ago when we were lying on the beach here in Holland with no computers and only a small transistor radio. We not even needed a manual to change the batteries.

I don't know that the Dutch would change anything but this works for me in English. My definition in english.ph p is

// Set the PHP locale to English
setlocale(LC_ALL, 'english');
//setlocale(LC_ALL, 'de_DE@euro', 'de_DE', 'de', 'ge');
