Price $2.50 becomes $250.00

Correction made:
Having a major issue with the prices in all fields.

I have the following default settings in admin pannel :

Currency Symbol $
* Currency Decimal .
* Currency Places 2
* Thousands Seperator ,
* Currency Symbol comes before the numbers

Now when I want to type for instance $2,50 the price in the ad becomes $250.00
(please remember we exchange the . for the , and vice versa.)

I use the original english.php language file.

Eventually this will have to be translated into Dutch but I want this first fixed.
