I'm not sure that I'm understanding your question. Do you mean you want to limit the number of ads that an individual and/or a user group can place? If so, there is no setting for that. Why would you want to limit the number of ads?

Right now I have a Local classified ad going where you get 3 free ads with no photos. Then I have Gold Members who can place 6 ads with photos where I charge them 15 per month for that. Also I have a business Gold Member where a business can post 3 ads with photos for $25.00. I am doing very well with it but I hate the classified script I have.

I know where I live people would just abuse unlimited ads. It would be a mess LOL

any help would be great,
thank you

What you can do is use coupons to give people discounts that expire after so many uses or a date.

thanks but That would be more of a hassle for me.

I get 2-3 gold gold members every couple days.

I think that is probably the only edit option this script doesn't have.

Can anyone help me or give me any idea how I can create this setting or option.

That is probably my most important setting I have for the classifieds I'm running now and I am making money and I don't really want to lose that setting.

thanks for any help or comments,

Steve

You can check out my membership module system by clicking the image at the bottom of my post. It automates coupon creation, user group switching etc. It may work for you.

I have a similar problem...

My 68C is based on free ads for antique cars. This gives colateral problems : guys publish one ad per screw they have for sale !!!! They do not post one ad for one headlight, one gearbox, one steering wheel, one headlight but one ad for EACH part they have for sale !!!
I have sellers that have more than one hundred ads published !!!

So if I can set a hard limit, it could limit this attitude ...

As a car enthusiast myself ive bought and sold a lot of parts over the years. I prefere to look on sites where items are listed by category. If I want a radiator I look under something like "Heating and cooling". I dont want to have to search through ads that contain a big laundry list of parts.

With that in mind, I am guessing your sites users feel much the same way and why they are placing a single ad for each part. At the end of the day,its easier for shoppers to find their parts when just a single part is in an ad and you sellers know this.

Im not sure what the frown icon is for. The membership module doesnt do anything you cant do manually. The module automates tasks and saves you time.

Just like 68C saves you time by automating the task of placing ads on a web site. Someone could just have people e-mail them ads and then create a static website where they hand enter and layout all the ads and then manually edit and remove them when the ads expiration is up to.

You dont want to spend money for the time a developer spent creating a module, then you have a couple choices. Spend your own time learning to code and write your own module, OR spend time dealing with the issue manually.
