Upload a blank key.php file to the directory "license/key.php". This sorted out the License Disabled problem for now.

I did check through my customer information and noticed that the license codes still do not match, so the problem still exists. Maybe Blair can give us an update on this issue to let us know where things are at.

Thanks! Yup, that worked for me too

If you continue to get a "License Disabled" message, I would recommend logging into your customer account at http://www.68classifieds.com/login and compare the license number there with the license number defined at the bottom of your Connections/classifieds.php file.

    Hope this helps.

edit: Removed comments regarding the blank license/key.php file. It appears that creating a blank file in the license directory and naming it 'key.php' helps clears the 'License disabled' error.

    Thanks for the update Blair.

Should we now be going in and updating our license number (Connections/classifieds.php) with the one that is documented in our Customer Account or are our original numbers going to continue to work?

I did some further testing and noticed that without the key.php file, the License Disabled problem occurs. With the key.php file the problem goes away regardless of the license key number.

Hi, if you go on your server, in the folder "license", you can see that the file key.php is missing. If you upload this file from your backup, this file will be deleted after the first refresh in any page of administration.
Instead, if you put a simple blank file named key.php in the folder "license", this file remains and will be not automatically deleted.
In this way the administration panel works fine.
Summary: in the folder "license" on the server must be a blank file key.php without any code or key.
    Bye

Yes, it's a good idea to login to http://www.68classifieds.com/login and verify that the license number there matches the license number defined in your Connections/classifieds.php file.

It sounds like creating an empty file in the license folder and name it key.php DOES help.

Very sorry for all the confusion this has caused!

Thanks for the update Blair...good to know that things are working normally again

eheh No problem Blair. Now all work fine. With the blank key.php file there isn't problem. I did a check of license number and I've seen that the first four numbers of the license in the control panel of 68 classifieds was not equal to the first four numbers of license in the Connections/classifieds.php, so I changed these numbers even if everything works equally.

    Hi Blair,

I am facing this problem, but none of these solutions helps! When I try to upload it says:

    "Files selected to upload:
key.php is empty and can not be uploaded.
    1 file(s) selected at 0 bytes
One or more files can not be uploaded. Please clear all and reselect files."

Please help me out, it keeps saying:
    "
    License Disabled

Your license has been disabled. Please contact 68 Classifieds for support.
    "
    !!!!!!!

This didn't help, I have no number at the bottom of this page(Connections/classifieds.php) to compare with!!!!
  11. freeze2 Customer

What are you trying to upload your key.php file with?

Also, at the bottom of the Connections/classifieds.php file, you should see this:

    //license key
    define("LICENSEKEY", "your-number-goes-here");

Make sure your number that is listed in your 68C customer account matches what is in your file. If your License Key is not there, just copy it from your customer account and paste it in your Connections/classifieds.php file.

I just tried it, pasted it even in bothe classifieds.php and classifieds-orig.php, nothing helped!!!! I really need to get this to work, I want to update the website, but I can't because of this!
  13. freeze2 Customer

Were you able to get your key.php file uploaded? That could be the problem if you haven't done that yet.
  14. Castor Troy New Member

There was never a file called "key.php" anywhere! Should I make one? Where should I put it then? And, what FTP should I use? Cause empty files cannot be uploaded to my hosting provider using their integrated FTP software/tool.
  15. freeze2 Customer

Yes, you will need to make one. Using your Notepad program (or similar), create a blank file and name it key.php (make sure you don't save it as a .txt file, but rather select all files when saving as key.php). Upload the file to the directory "license/key.php".

For FTP programs, you can use something like FileZilla or my program of choice CuteFTP. Once you have the key.php file uploaded, you should be able to access your admin panel normally.

    Same problem today (v4.07 developper)

I also uploaded a blank key.php file as instructed "blank key.php file to the directory "license/key.php" It works as a temporary fix
I verified my licence number in the classifieds.php script and it matches with the one in my download area....

    really strange and worrisome ...
  20. michael Just get on with it!

This issue made me wonder. What would happen in the event of some unfortunate crisis at 68C? I know that most contingencies will have been planned for but if something like this happened again when - god forbid - there was no one at the helm could our sites be rendered useless?
