Default Getting french errors on dates

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
Example: V4.1.6 Designer

What template are you using?
purple

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
There seems to be utf-8 problems on my dates such as the date added, the exipry date, etc.

Any ideas why it is doing this. Was there a part of the script that forgot to be converted to uft-8?

Thanks.

Is it a UTF problem or is that you have not set the correct php date format in the admin control panel under regional settings?

Let me correct my first question. The error is a spelling error... like for example for february, in french it is written as fvrier. The accent on the e is showing as a weird symbol that usually replaces the letter. Any ideas why?

Thanks.

Je comprend maintenant.

Is the problem occurring in the administration control panel or on the front end. If so which pages exactly. Please give some examples.

Sure, it happens on front end of the site, when ever a date is showed. I deleted my orders, but what I didn't know is that would also the delete the ads... So I no longer have a demo to show you but I can create a test ad if you want and attach a screen shot.

En passant, est-ce que tu est franais ou tu le comprend un peu?

Thanks for your help.

Can you look in your database and see if the dates are encoded correctly. It may be not on the output but on the input.

Under what are they listed in the database? I did a search and did not manage to find them.

I have checked my database and every time there is a french word with accents it replaces it with weird letters, perhaps it's because my database isn't set to UTF-8? I can manually change them back to how they are suppose to be but I am not sure if that will be permanent...

Oh and my database crashed for some reason, maybe because I have been playing with it while my refreshing some pages on my site? Because I do not see any other reasons, I did not change anything except for states, country and some descriptions.

I would propose you re-innstall again if possible in a subdomain to test. The 'setlocale' should be set for french but apart from that I see no reason why you are not rendering these characters correctly.

LOL
