Seriously guys, I know this is going to be easy but I just can't track it down and I've looked all over the place!

go to Payment >> Manage Products and select the package you want to edit. There you can find "Maximum number of title characters" among others.

Hmmm, this didn't have the effect I was after. Within my last viewed and featured listings on the home page, all ad' titles are being cut short at 30 characters. I'd like to stretch this to 35 characters.

Any ideas?

Are you using the default template files? What are you using to show the latest listings and featured listings on your home page?

It sounds like you may have a smarty truncate in there. If you do, it would look similar to this:
{$entry.title|30} with 30 being the number of characters it is limiting the string to.

Perhaps a link to this home page may help.
