I'm getting that error message (in bright orange) when I try to submit some ad's in Step 3. It appears alongside both the short and long description boxes. I'd already set these to accept 150 and 1000 characters respectively but I thought I'd go in to my Listing Packages to see if anything was wrong.
It wasn't, but now I'm getting the exact same message next to the Listing Package description field too!

Any help?

I've cleared the cache Larry but the error still occurs - in every template!

I beleive its java script that does the validation, try restarting your system.

Still nothing mate. I really haven't got a clue here, I've upgraded to v4.1.3 but the problem still persists.

Do you have another computer you can try it from? Can you verify all the javascript stuff got uploaded correctly when you upgraded your site?

To me I can think of a few things to check.

1. Double or Triple check that the package actually has a number for the max characters.
2. On step 3 look and see what the javascript thinks the max number is.
3. Are you getting javascript error or is this after the form has been submitted?
4. Are you adding anything weird into the description or pretty much straight text?

The same thing happens.

I only upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.1.3 AFTER this problem appeared (as an attempt to fix it).

It does, that was the first thing I checked.

How do I do this Eric?

No. I am not getting any javascript errors.

Just text. Even a single character will produce this error.

I appreciate you guys scratching your heads over this. I have to go to work now so will check back in a few hours. Many thanks,

Mike

Larry, you asked; "Do you have another computer you can try it from?" I was mistaken to say that the same thing happened, turns out everything works fine from my wifes laptop!

So it's clearly a local thing. Now what?

Nick. thanks for taking the time to register and troubleshoot for me. No, I haven't encountered that error message.
