Blank Page with userindex.php

We're having this problem when upgrading from v4.0.8 to either 4.1.0 or 4.1.1, and on a fresh install of 4.1.1:

After a user logs in and is forwarded to userindex.php the page is blank.

The httpd error log has the following error:

[Sun Mar 22 21:24:06 2009] [error] [client 69.37.99.25] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getUserNotes() on a non-object in /var/www/html/classifieds_test/userindex.php on line 69, referer: http://www.onenotewonder.com/classif.../userindex.php

Line 69 in userindex.php is:

$class_tpl->assign('usernotes', $Users->getUserNotes($userid));

If I comment out this line the page loads fine. Does anyone know what could be the problem and how to resolve it?

The getusernotes is a function in the users.php file (includes/classes/kernel/users.php). Check to see if that file is corrupted.

The users.php file appears fine. I opened it in Notepad++, saved it, re-uploaded it, and the problem still occurs.

Would you have anything else to try?

Try uploading a fresh file from the v4.1.1 download.

This problem appears to be related to the database and not the files.

This was determined by:
- First upgrading the files & db to v4.1.2 and the problem still appeared.
- I then removed the db, ran Setup again, and chose the New Install option. With the fresh database, the userindex.php page works fine.
- If I switch to the upgraded db - the userindex.php page fails with a blank page and the following errors still appears in the httpd error log:

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getUserNotes() on a non-object in /var/www/html/classifieds_test/userindex.php on line 69

Does anyone have ideas on where to go from here?

You may want to submit a ticket with your ftp details and we will see if we can figure out what is going on.

Also this should not have no affect on the db because that is just a function we define in a file. I would have to say it is a file issue and not related to the db.
