Default Include Features On Other Pages

Is it possible to include say featured listings on a page outside of the classifieds section? I would like on the front page of my main site to maybe have a section where featured listings are and then clicking on them takes someone into the classifieds.

Does the ability to do this already exist in version 4.01 or is this a mod that would have to be made?

Thanks for the help!
Adam

If your homepage is made in php then it shouldnt be too difficult to incorporate. Else you would have to convert your homepage to php.

i would suggest you have to include in your remote page a little PHP code that call Featured ads in the 68C database ... it looks like basic SQL query and PHP code.

You can also use the external file to create an rss feed and use a parser to show the ads on the home page.

If the page isn't a php page you can always parse it by editing your .htaccess which will make your .htm / .html pages read php.

I didn't even know about the external.php file. That makes that part easier and now that I am thinking of calling the individual files via php calls, that will help too. This has helped tremendously so far, so thanks to everyone.

I do have one more question though, I am trying to call the featured listings file. When I call "toplistings.php", it includes essentially the whole template. When I call "toplistings.php?pg=featured" then I get the below error:

Warning: require_once(toplistings.php?pg=featured) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/eclass/public_html/upload/test.php on line 10

Just so you know, line 10 is <?php require_once('toplistings.php?pg=featured'); ?>

Any thoughts?
Thanks again!
Adam
