What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
v4.1.10 Developer

What template are you using?
Sigma - Silver

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
I have added categories and extra fields. When I try to add ads and select the category, an error shows up that says "No products could be found for this category."

Why is it doing this and how do I get around it?

Hi,
You have to add a product.
goto yoursite.com/administration/products.php then tie it to all the categories you want it to be used for.
ie you might charge $5 for general items and $10 for cars, so you have the $10 product attached to the car categories and the other one for everything else.

I am looking at the quick start guide and the documentation. Is there another step by step set up page I should be looking at?

use the support link at top of page and look through ALL of the documentation. Pay special attention to all the admin settings.
