You are correct! This is stated here: http://www.gotodetails.com/page/24.html
However the first fundraiser we are running that is detailed in this thread is for a local hospital where they will receive 100% of all revenue gained - GoToDetails receive no 'transaction fee' or income whatsoever. Thanks for the question.

Just a quick update - the first 2,000 coupons (equals potentially 20,000 listings) are being delivered to the hospital.

Another delay - my contact's Father rushed to hospital again by air ambulance - he is critically ill - she back at work again but must now focus on and finish the organisation's annual report that needs to be tabled in Parliament.
'Patients is a virtue' I keep telling myself - in 2 weeks, we should be back to where we were last week. Will keep you posted. So close but yet so far away!

Is anyone currently using this mod and if so, how is it working for you...?
just curious? thinking about using it for a youth group who wants to raise funds... currently most ads are free, except those who want their ads featured, bolded and hightlighted... than the total cost is $5.00... I know not much, but I am still trying to get traffic to my site on a zero budget for adverting! Still trying to generate local interest... So if anyone is using this mod, can they tell me if it worth the $50 ... thanks...

If your ads are already free and just the options are payable, then you don't have any room to decrease the cost for fundraising purposes.
Now let's say your ads were eg $2 ea and memberships were eg: $5, $10 and $20. Plus you still have the options at the same rate as you do now. Now you have room to bring in a fundraising component. You might choose just to make memberships part of your fundraising. Say 3 sets of coupons for the 3 membership packages with 50% of revenue going to the fundraising organization. They make the sales and keep 50%. That's a good deal in anyones books. If you choose say 75% or 90% as a fundraising component, I really think that can 'cheapen' the offer because most fundraising organisation will understand you need to recover your own costs and make a profit for the site to grow let alone remain viable. If you go down this path, then the coupon mod will be very good value for you. However first get an agreement with your chosen fundraising group(s) before you start spending money on mods.

Chaslie, how is your fundraising camping? Did you get anything from it?
The idea was very good, I like it.

We will revisit them at another time 'after' we have successfully launched. So we needed to develop another idea and this is it. What we are working on in the interim is 'schools'. Over the past month, have been researching schools, planning our strategy, setting up documentation and fine tuning a new price list. Major colleges in our region have on average 1,500 students which represent 700 families on average. Primary schools have around 600 students on average which represent 500 families. So you can see that 'schools' as a target group represent a significant of 'housholds' within a community. To date we have estimated that over 20% of the households in our region have school age kids. We have not targeted universities just for the present. They are another group that will come later because they operate completly differently. The 'key' to targeting schools is that they all publish newsletters that go home to parents. Most are published weekly. Some monthly. Each of these newsletters carry some advertising. eg: some advertising is published for free - eg: an event of interest to their school community. Some is sponsorship. Plus all schools participate in fundraising in one form or another. Next week, have a meeting with the Deputy Principal of a local college to 'test' the concept, to confirm their 'hotspots' and to find out if there is anything in this that they don't like. So this is still early days with no guarantees. If it looks good, then we do a mail out to 60 schools and colleges in our region of the state. Then each need to be followed up. Even at this stage, it will be a beta exercise. 'Sellers' will be purchasing their listings/memberships either one line (via PayPal) or purchasing coupons directly from the school/college. If via PayPal, we pay the school 50% of all revenue. If by coupons, the schools pay us 50%.

Well visited the Deputy Principal who was most approachable and thought the idea worthy. We agreed that the next step was for her to run it by the Principal and that I would then meet with her (the Principal) to discuss any issues. If all was still OK at that point, then the next step would be to take it to School Council.
Well it went to the Principal then straight to School Council without me first discussing it with the Principal. Consequently, it would not have been represented correctly. The email I received after School Council discussed it was this: Quote:

Next week, will be mailing my proposal to four schools this time and requesting meetings with each. It will be interesting to see what happens this time. Before we do a mass mailout to 60 schools in the region, we first need to determine the strengths of the proposal they see it and then get at least two schools on board asap. One thing I have had confirmed is that schools are definitely chasing fundraising income!
