Default Subscriptions

Hi Guys

Sorry if this is listd somewhere, but I am wandering is it possible with this classifieds software to instead of have just free-adds and users pay for additional featured adds, can this be set as a subscription service through paypal and the users get to post as many adds they want as long as they carry on with the monthly subscription ?

Thanks Mark

Subscription is not a standard feature and as far as I am aware there is no module to automate this process. However you are not correct in your statement. You can define various packages of any number of combinations of standard, bold, highlighted and featured ads and also tie them to specific groups of categories. Amounts can be changed per package and so can the duration. You can also set up usergroups too: gold, silver, bronze for example. Featured ads is just one small feature.

Personally, I would use paypal to do the heavy lifting in terms of managing subscriptions. It just means you have to manage your paying membership.

Well, first you can charge for the ad itself. That is kind of the point as well as charge for upgrades. In addition, there actually IS a module for exactly what you are talking about offered by Techonnx that is called Memberships. Although, it isn't "PayPal" subscription based, however it will send a reminder email and/or PM to the seller prior to the "Membership" running out just like the reminder email for an ad running out. So once setup, it is an automated process and you as the administrator do not have to be involved in the payment other then to receive an email that you got MONEY!

My apologies on not knowing that the membership module actually manages subscriptions.

Not too sure if this is any kind of answer but . . . . . . Subscription payments via PayPal - solved!
