Default I have quite a few questions before buying, sorry

Hi all,
I want to have job ads and apartment rental ads for my Joomla 1.5 website.

1. For the job ads, can the ads list view display only the titles (no photos)? Is it just about modifying the CSS?
2. I need a menu with locations as categories and subcategories (like state/city): if I want to have a job board and an apartment rental board, am I going to need two instances or clones of 68 classifieds?
3. Is it possible to restrict the ad detail view to registered users only?
4. Is it possible to have the detail view collapse with a JS accordion effet?
5. If a user has already published an ad, can he easily republish the same without having to retype the whole ad?
6. My site will have a Jomsocial community and a Kunena forum, will it be possible to have all parts of the site share the same login?
7. License wise, can I have as many boards per domain for the same price? What are the terms?

Thanks in advance

1. Yes - no - the html in the template file and setting up your usergroups.
2. Not necessarily - this is about implementation
3. yes - see 1.
4. yes but you would need to code that in the appropriate template file
5. not clear - if you mean modify/edit his ad then yes.
6. probably difficult to do. What you are talking about here is an integration which can get complex.
7. one license per domain. You can run multiple subdomain of 68C when I last looked. Some third-party suppliers of add-ons, modules and templates like ourselves license per copy.

Thanks for the reply,
5. Regarding republishing ads, what I meant is for example if a user posted 2 months ago an ad that runs 30 days, and he wants to publish again the same ad, is there a way for him to retrieve his old ad and republish it, as is or with modifications, so that he doesn't need to rewrite the entire thing (some job ads can be pretty long).
6. Thanks for the heads up, since this was a crucial point for me.
7. So if I have 4 boards and 4 directories on my site, add-ons are going to cost me a lot of money, even before paying for customization.

I don't believe Joomla is the right cms for my project any more. The only strong point for me was Jomsocial. I think I might look into Drupal development.

The answer is no - once an ad has expired it is deleted permanently.

Well it depends. Most like us will offer discounts for multiple licenses.

Ok, so the user must retype the whole ad each time. Too bad.
However the biggest problem for me is not being able to integrate the login for all areas of the site.
I'm going to try out Ads Manager for Joomla and see what I can do with that.

Well if an ad is expired it is expired. If you did not delete expired ads, then your system would potentially bloat very quickly. This has all types of ramifications. for example, lengths of back up times (and ftp load) of your database and images folders.

As for the common login - it is not a case of not being possible but simply limited by your php skills and the security which is built into various systems. I actually do not think it is a big practical issue. Once people have logged in once, if they click the remember me buttons then they should in theory be able to move between the systems. For example I can't remember the last time I had to type in my login information into this forum.
Now what was my password again.

I see your point, but I want the users to become members of the Jomsocial community in order to view the detail of the ads.

Ahhh - it now appears that you are actually talking about something quite different and more complicated. You actually want users of one system shared with users of another. So if they register for one system they automatically get registered for another at the same time. Then you want common login (one time/one place only). I think you will need to accept that this will be quite a complicated piece of customisation.

I am thinking about htpasswd protected directories passing login information and all sorts but I cannot think of an easy way to do it. One idea is that you would query the joomla database for the registration details and insert them into the 68 classifieds database. You would also need to then have the 68C login script automatically filled out or bypassed if they were a joomla member already. It all seems rather complicated to be frank.

Perhaps someone else on the forum has some ideas.
