Default A few simple questions...

Hi,

A few q's. For the more tech oriented ones, I am proficient in HTML, CSS and PHP/MySQL development (I was going to roll out my own system until stumbling across 68C!)

1) I'm not getting much sense out of my host about ioncube - is there some sample code or similar I can upload to test if it's installed?

2) Could you download the developer addition, install it on a local machine, set everything up and then upload to the real domain - I mean, will the license key (or whatever is used) get confused by me trying to set it all up on a dev server and then upload it to live?

3) Do you have any deals for "volume licensing" ? I'm starting off with a single site, but have in mind 4 additional sites on the same theme... if it's as good as anyone says then $200 isn't a major headache... but obviously a discount for additional purchases would be a nice incentive!

4) How easy would it be to distinguish between "private" and "business" listings? For example, private people would just place regular adverts, whereas business listings will likely want to place lots and lots of ads (with an e.g,. recurring subscription with unlimited ads, as opposed to price per ad...) as well as give them a "personalised homepage" or similar within the site... is that doable and easy enough?

5) Following from (4) - is it possible to set up a recurring payment - i.e,. rather than prompting an e.g,. dealer to return to the site every month to make a payment, the payment is automatically taken? (Obviously you could just charge a yearly subscription, but some dealers might not want to commit to a year...)

I think that's all for now... no doubt will have more!

Hi Matt,

#1. What you could do is visit Ioncube's website and download the bundle for your system: PHP Encoder, protection, installer and performance tools from ionCube: Loader Download

Upload this whole bundle to your server and visit the: ioncube-loader-helper.php file.

This will then tell you if it works or what to do next. Also if you tell us the host name we may can tell you.

#2. Yes you can do this. The script is setup to allow running on localhost with no issues. You would need to install ioncube locally but that generally isn't that hard.

#3. Yes we do offer discounts. The first at full price then any purchased within 90 days of the previous gets 20% off.

#4. You could setup usergroups to distinguish them. Continued with #5.

#5. This is not something currently supported. Although if you do have php and mysql skills then you could add something like this in.

I hope this helps and if you have any further questions just ask.
