Default just a few questions before I buy the hosted version

I have a few questions:
1. I wandered if it is possible to change the ads features in the hosted version as well?
2. I don't work with linux or unix so I figured the best option for me would be to use the hosted version because I don't need to use linux, is that correct?
3. Is the hosted version comes with MySQL and all the rest of the requirements? How does this work exactly I need some clarifications. I have never worked with PHP or MySQL before and have zero knowledge of programming. What I understand is that I need to create a database with MySQL to use this program on a website but what I don't get is that on the hosted version do I get the MySQL program as well or do I have to download it from somewhere else.
4. If I have a html website already created in FrontPage can I upload it to your host and use this program on it as part of that website? Meaning that the website would be html and PHP based together, is that possible?
5. I would like to upload a package to your host that would allow me to have a search engine so people would be able to search my site. Do I need that or do you have that already built in this program?
6. I would also like to have a guest calculator on my website that would count how many people click on it. Can I upload something like that as well to your host?
Sorry for all these questions but I need some clarifications. I have never really created a website in my life and the little bits of infos I collected from others before are not sufficient to answer all these questions. I assume that your host website works as other hosts and then I would be able to upload my own website that already has all the necessary packages built in it such as a search engine, etc.
Thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions.

Default sorry but something came to my mind that would need clarification as well

1. Do you provide a domain name as well or I have to purchase it elsewhere. I think I would have to buy it somewhere else but just correct me if I am wrong.

I am not staff but can provide the following answers for you.

Hosted version is hosted on a linux server with PHP and MySQL already installed. Your new site would be installed by 68C ready for you to use.

A search facility is already included in the program.

The hosted version is designed for people who wish to have their own 68C site and have no experience in HTML. If you wish to make changes to your hosted version, you first need to learn more about HTML.

By that I mean if you bought a brand new BMW vehicle off the showroom floor, you would not want anyone to muck around with the motor or modify it unless they knew what they are doing. Disaster would be imminent. So please don't attempt to modify your new 68C program until you are confident you have gained some basic skills.

To learn more about HTML, try this site and complete the tutorials: http://www.w3schools.com/web/web_html.asp

Default thank you for the quick answers

Thank you for the quick answers Chaslie. I understand that if I don't know anything about html I shouldn't touch it. It wouldn't be me, it would be someone I know who can design websites in HTML although she never used PHP or MySQL before but I will read into the material you were talking about and get some knowledge about what does it involve exactly to create a website. It was my intention to do so the only thing that holded me back was the fact that I own two type of operational systems on my computers, one of them is Mac OS X and the other one is Windows Vista. And so far I have not found any web design programs that would run on these two operational systems and wouldn't cost too much.

Hi,

What Chaslie wrote is pretty much spot on but I think he missed a few points so I will answer each question individually below.

Quote:
1. I wandered if it is possible to change the ads features in the hosted version as well?
Yes anything you can change on our demo you can also change with the hosted version.

2. I don't work with linux or unix so I figured the best option for me would be to use the hosted version because I don't need to use linux, is that correct?
I am not sure I am following you on this one. It can be installed on pretty much any system that has Apache, PHP, and MySQL installed.

Yes the hosted version comes with everything you need and we set up everything to get your site live.

Yes you can different sections designed using different programs.

This is built in.

If you can find something like this then yes you can upload it to the hosted account.

Yes you would buy it elsewhere and just change the name servers.
