Default Designer ed. Questions

Hello everyone,

I currently have a site that uses another classified script, vB 3.7, and vB Advanced. I have, over the past few months, learned some coding (very basic) to get me by. I like to keep things simple. Here ae my questions:

1. Will your classified script work with the vBa CPMS modules?

2. Can I show regular ads, in addition to featured ad, on the main classified page?

3. Does the classifieds inherit the forums permissions?

4. Can I limit the size of images uploaded?

5. If for some reason the two classified script conflict, can I change the domain name of this script or is it that once I assign the name it has to keep it?

Thanks for any answers you supply.

Hi and thanks for your interest.

We do a have vbulletin user share which copies the user details either to or from your vb database.

1. I am not sure what these are but I would say no.

2. Yes this can be done.

3. No it has its own permissions and user groups.

4. Yes you can limit the size and also set a size that they will be resized to.

5. Yes you can change the domain associated with your license at any time through our customer area.

Can you reply with a link to vBa CPMS? I did a Google search and didn't find anything specific.

Thanks for responding so fast. Great. The answer to #2 is it is a "Content Management and Portal System (CMPS) that you can include other script info into. Here's their site www.vbadvanced.com since you use vbulletin - it's an interface (I think that's the correct term). Anywhoo, the reason I asked is because I use it as my home page and it gathers info from other scrips onto the page (sort of like a screenshot of everything on the site on one page).

So can you tell me is there a way for visitors to see the classifieds if it's not the homepage? Meaning can the featured ads at least be on my home page?

I hope I'm being clear. Thanks again for the fast response - that's customer service. :-)

You should be able to use the cmps mentioned above. You would need to purchase this module -
http://68mods.com/listing/18/vBulletin_Usershare.html. Then you will just have to put the cmps code into 68classifieds.

I don't see a reason for it not to work if you just put some time into it.

You could use the RSS feed (external.php) and include it in your home page, perhaps as an iframe.

I decided to register - like the support so far., and I got tired of trying to read that darn captcha code.

Okay, but is that mod supported? and what is the level of difficulty to install? So if I don't purchase the user share mod, then users would have to login in on the classified and my site?

Also, this is a little off topic but in relationship to it...have you guys thought of offering a "toned down" version of your classified script over at vbulletin.org Vbulletin is really needing a good classified script add-on.

So finally, just to be clear, I can do even the user share with the Designer edition?

Thanks again.

Thank you, but I see you missed the part on I am clueless about coding. Sorry I don't know what an IFrame is or how to make one.
