Hello guys� last question

I am planning to buy the developers edition and also the installation, I have a running website, and what I want to know is if you guy install 68c, can I live the existing website running until I customize 68c to my needs and what do I have to do to change from my exiting website to 68c?

2. When is the v4 version coming out?

3. can I run openads on 68c?

A web server, just like any other systems, stores files in folders or directories. On a web server usually a specific folder is assigned to your domain name so when the web server gets a request for a domain it points it to a specific file (determined by web server configuration) or the URL in a browser.

This folder is called the web servers document root and likely where most people have their web site. Depending on the layout of your current site, placing 68c files in that same folder may cause problems (ie some files may have duplicate names) so I recommend installing it in a subfolder.

If you later want to move it you will need to make a couple changes in admin so it knows where to look for the site after the move, then copy all the files from the subfolder out to the document root once ready to take it live.

Im not a developer so cant say for certain but since no one can predict when all the bugs will be found and problems discovered its hard to say.

You should be able to run openads no problem. Some form of ads may be a little trickier to implement that other though. 68C uses smarty templates which are compiled on the fly and embeding javascript or php code in them requires the use of certain tags to tell smarty to not compile that section of code.

Thank for the quick response Larry, It was a great help. I just purchase 68c developers and also the installation, where do I send the info that you guys request for the installation? Do I have to download the script or since I pay for the installation I live everything to you guys?

Ya know. im not sure on this. I dont actually work for 68C, Im a customer like you who volunteers on the forum and ive never used the paid install, so I am not sure how it works. Where there any directions when you went through the purcahse? If not, log into 68C site where you made the purchase and submit a trouble ticket with your login info so they can install it.

You can just submit a ticket with your ftp details and we will install it. You would not have to download the script unless you want it for a backup.
