Default Find Hostname of MySQL server

Hi,
I need to know my Hostname of MySQL server, eg mysql406.ixwebhosting.com (which is my US hosting one). I need to find it out for my Australian hosting but for some reason they wont tell me. I want to call the database from my US hosting but need the url. Crazy domains just keep telling me Localhost is all i need when it clearly isnt.

Does anyone know of a script that will find it out?

Cheers

No this is something your hosting company will have to tell you. Only they will be able to help here.

Hi,
Ok thanks for the reply.
While i wait for crazydomains to tell me the hostname i would like to do some testing on my local servers.

Do you know what the hostname is for wamp or xamp? I will just set 2 computers up with them to test.
Cheers,
Nick

Have you actually tried looking in your settings for these answers?

Info on xampp or another local installation is best found at their site. There are a variety of settings that are dependent on your machine and your preferences.

I recommend reading through the various links for xampp that can be found here:

apache friends - documentation about xampp

They also have a forum that can be found here:

Host name assumes a qualified DNS name or at least a name that has DNS entries in your environment. If you are running XAMP on your desktop PC then chances are you do not have domain name for it or if you do have a domain name you have to goto your registrar and set it up so the internet DNS server points your DNS name to your IP address.

Most home internet connections dont give you a static IP and it will change often making hosting a domain name on your desktop PC not very practicle.
