Default mod prop: automatically shorten url

Hi,

I think a shorten url module, which automatically shorten the url of a listing will be add to the ease of the website

Especially when people will hang a flyer in the local hardware store or grocery store;;,-

Made in Pat How to : Create a simple url shortener script is a few minutes

Is this possible?

Its a nice idea but the search engine friendly module with a little more work on the .htaccess file does most of this anyway. I don't think this is a module really but a customization you may wish to apply to your site. I think there are some drawbacks to it in terms of long term support.

Hi,

Oke, but ive also seen a question on the forum for a unique store url.
I dont think this is possible with seo and i do think this is possible with short url.

but if i should choose for the seo, how much would something cost (to rephrase the store and the viewlisting urls to domain/title/ ?

Try to explain and give details because it is not clear what you wish to achieve. I think I have already explained in at least two posts that each advert has to be unique with a unique number and how that works in terms of renaming.

It uses a is.gd url shortening api that can be used.
