Default Paid advertising mod

I have a customer that is interested in your program and we have taken a look at some of your customers' websites and noticed that some have a section for paid advertisements. Is there a module that would allow the admin to display relevant advertisements (similar to the Google adsense mod) and take payments for those ads? Or, if this would take some custom programming, would it be possible to create one?

Look into adpeeps and openx ads. Im not aware of any banner ad type system for the current version of 68C.

There is not a module that I am aware of for this. I have done several sites that have incorporated display ads. Both OpenX (open source) and adpeeps (commercial) are advertising server scripts that allow you to serve ads to websites. Google now offers an ad serving service as well (I haven't used it).

Unfortunately, the payment for display ads would have to be separate. One thing that I've done is simply added a page (within the built in admin page editor) to make display advertising pages with PayPal buttons to pay for the ads including subscription payments if you're charging monthly, etc.

Default More Importantly...

What market/vertical is your client going after? What type of classifieds do they plan on offering? And what are their external/traditional marketing plans?

The other guys answered the back-end questions but there is a lot of front-end planning that needs to be done also.

At the end of the day you will need to set up your template file to display ads from what ever source they come from whether it be google, openx or adpeeps; I can say from my own experience that adpeeps in particular has conflicted with several 68C sites I have dealt with in the past.

Default ad manager pro?

Heey,

it took me four weeks to find a good banner software,
openx wasnt right for me because i wanted the advertisers to sign up by themselves. (openx has mods for this but were way expensive)
I dont really like the adpeeps admin, all those dropdowns and stuff.

eventually i ended up choosing between softbiz and ad manager pro.
And because softbiz isnt that flexible (in language or modifications) i ended up buying ad manager pro

( Ad Manager Pro - Easy To Use, Ad Management System, Unique PHP Script )

And its a great, the support is also fast and helpful (needed some modifcations done). and above all: the system is templatebased, so easy to change.
