If I will only have paid ads on my site and I want to send out a reminder 7 days before... This works automatic from my understanding...

But what exactly happens?

Is the user simply taken to paypal to repay? Or is there anything else involved?

To renew a listing they would login and then select the listing they want to renew. At this point they verify the information and are sent to the payment gateway.
