Hi,
In administration i have Thumbnail Width: 120 Thumbnail Height: 90 and thats what i want all thumbnails to be, if i upload a photo that is 324 x 480 the thumbnail ends up 60 x 90. I want ALL thumbnails to be 120 x 90 doesnt matter if they look stretched, it is only the thumbnails. How can i fix this? Cheers, Nick

Why not code the height and width parameters into your showlistings.tpl file should they never need to change. Same if you are using plugins to display featured listings.

You would do it in viewlistings as well.
Not sure it is a bug as I have never had issues. Why can you not set these explicitly in your admin control panel under image settings as this how you are meant to do it. |

The chances are that if this was a bug it would have been fixed months ago. Before hardcoding everywhere it may be best to look at the other possibilities - corrupted files, non-working GD library, etc. If not then do the hardcoding. I actually do this but I forget why I did it on my early sites.

This is just my personal opinion and its your site to do what you want with but when I see images stretched out of proportion, to me it just looks tacky and unprofessional. I personally wont post any images or use a site that RUINS my images by not keeping their proportions.

So i have the choice of making them higher than the others, half as thin as the others, or stretched out of proportions. I have put it back to the way it was because it does look terrible with them all streched, but im still looking for alternatives. Cheers

You are looking at it from a site owners perspective and how an image makes your site look but thats only a very small fraction of what really matters. From a sellers perspective, images of what they are selling is likely more important to them than your site layout, craigs list is a perect example of a horrible looking site that does well.
I think far too many people get all caught up in what THEY want as a site owner and lose sight of pure functionality and what actually matters to the ad poster.

Absolutely. What ever proportions you choose, your customers will not do what you want or what fits. You choose landscape and I guarantee a good percentage will upload portrait. The most you can do is post advice on image proportions.
