Switches for manual and Auto Approval for different packages?

Gentlemen :
In the Admin, Is there a way to make certain packages "manual" ie they have to be approved and an email is sent to the Administrator for approval --- AND --- allow other packages to be automatically approved (ie go straight to Authorize.net??

Any thoughts on making this adjustment will be well appriciated...

Thats currently a feature but my auth free ads mod is based on a similar, more limited. request except it currently allows you to set your site not to require authorization for ads but will set free ads to require authorization.

Are you looking at just authorizing free ads or are their other packages you want to have control over as well? I can probably tweak my module to allow for independent settings for each package.

Fantastic. I am not using free ads at all. I want to be able to do exactly as your last sentence -- be able to allow for independent settings for each package. Lead the way, Kimosabe :-) What do I have to do or buy?

Great, Larry. To clarify, the "switch" will allow customers returning from having paid for their packages, to be made approvable by email, OR based upon the package selected, get immediate approval and their ad goes live right away. Now, on the first part, Admin gets sent an email notifying of the pending approval, right? I am not sure that currently exists in core 68C

I dont understand what you mean "approvable by email"?

Right now you can specify if you, as admin, want a notification e-mail when an ad is placed or edited. I wasnt going to alter that at all.

Based on your initial posts it sounded like you simply wanted a way to specify if a given package could have its ads be set to require admin authorization independently. Right now, default behavior is all or nothing.

I was simply going to add an admin page to my module to display a list of packages with a dropdown for each to specify the package should require admin authorization or not.

Sorry for confusing the issue, as I did not realizse I can set up being notified -- or not -- when an ad is placed. About 30 ads have been placed on my site, and I never did get an email notification so I considered it did not exist. Or perhaps it is turned off. Where might I find it? Otherwise, you have it exactly right. Thank you.

Its under settings -> checkout settings.

It was defaulted to YES but I think it has been my .htaccess clamping down keeping the site private (until opened), which most likely has not allowed the emails. I really look forward to what you come up with. Have a great weekend, Larry.

found it. was my smtp settings; took them out & used gmail to test and there it is.
