Default Version upgrade note

Hey,

I've uploaded v4.1.0 RC2 and changed the details in Connections/classifeds.php to match the database of my previous version.

Everything works fine/better even, but still getting the '68 Classifieds v4.1.0 RC2 is available! Please upgrade now' note popping up in the admin area.

Would it be ok to change the version number in my database? or is there another way of getting the script to recognise which version i'm using.

When you say you upgraded, exactly what did you do?

When you upgrade you should have a setup folder and you should run through setup again chosing upgrade instead of install and it makes the version changes in the database for you.

I made a fresh install in another directory. Only thing I wanted to keep are the database entries, such as categories, fields, products etc.

It seems everything is pulling from the database fine, just wondering if that note is only refering to the version field in the admin table.

So you made a fesh install but pointed to an existing old database?

Thats a recipe for disaster in a production environment because database tables may get altered.

You still should have gone through the upgrade process.
