is it possible to change the categories on my main page to drop down menus instead of the default envelopes?

i noticed you can specify this in the extra fields in administration but not on the main manage categories page.

Just about anything is possible but you would have to modify the function that collects the cats from the DB. Are you talking about having 1 big dropdown for all cats? A dropdown for just subcats in a given category? Or a dropdown for each top category that includes subcats?

Any way you slice it, my personal opinion is that I like to see my choices at a glance, I dont want to have to scroll through a list just to find what I am looking for doesnt exist.

yeah, i'll probably just leave it the way it is for now. you're right i don't like scrolling either. maybe i'll do something different in the future.

have a look at truck and machinery.com.au remove spaces, the dropdowns i use on that site are from maffos search module, although i think its no longer for sale if you contact maffo he might be able to work something out.
