Default Maffo Super Mod V4 Battle Plan

Cool!

Today I have finally began the installation of the super mod v4 system onto my main classified-software.co.uk server.

Im very happy, I was worrying about performance speeds and I have to say its running exceptionally fast.

I am taking my time and setting up a demo site from absolute scratch and documenting everything to make it simple, yes, simple for my users

Today I got through File Uploads, Wrote the database upgrade file and documented the whole lot in a html readme.

I have all these things still to document:
Locations: 1st and Most important part of your website. Cant place any ads until this is done.
Multisiting: How to set up a complete new website in minutes! You will love this!
Layout Tutorial: I have built what I have called the Maffo Grid template which will allow you to place elements such as headlines, new listings, navigation, searching, where you want it in your template. You can choose which pages they appear on and which ones they dont.

Once I have these done I will release the code at its beta price of 99GBP.

I am hoping to have a few people take the system on at the same time so I have a group and we can all go through things together. This is a beta system after all.

Whilst in ints Beta phase I will be working on the system, refining the checkout and getting the core to a state of how I am happy with it.

My layout scheme is xhtml strict 1.1 and the css is 2.1, everything has an id and a class....even dynamic listings so you can in theory add styling via the id to any unique listing whether it appear in your featured on the homepage or wherever you want.

One huge job I have and Im not looking forward to is going through the 68 default template to have it fit more with this system. Its going to take time so thats what this beta phase is for.

Even when the Alpha is out the system will only be 20% complete. I have a whole lot more going on in this mind of mine!!

Anyways if you wanna see it here it is. You can watch it being built over the next few days and see how fast it gets up and running.

I have only added some categories to the 'motorbike' part of the website, the rest of the site wont work much.

Dont try and register, dont place ads, dont do anything just look. I have to sort the locations 1st.

Join me tomorrow to see where we are.......

Super Mod V4

Remember! Beta Testers wanted only 99GBP

Yes I am aware it crashes if you click search. This is normal.

If you try a search where I have placed categories such as motorbikes, then there is no error

Quick question. Why use the default 68C template? I've always found it rather bland and uninteresting.

Happy to beta round the bush.

Cheers guys,

Michael, I have made my own layout scheme and css sheet so it looks nothing similar to the current default template. However any pages that get called to the body are currently calling teh 68 default files, hence the reason I am going through them one by one.

You can see the layout Autos - Index

Update

Location system installed and fully documented

You can now register for the website. Please dont put in any bull*hit addresses like 'test' or 'asdjkhsadkhdj'. That sort of thing really annoys me.

Fendter, I see you registered. Did it go smoothely? What are your 1st impressions. You can be honest with offending me

Maffo, keep up the good work. So far I like what I see. I got 2 mysql error messages when I registered. I think one was about me putting in CA for California as a state. I tried it again with California and got the same error msg.

The main thing I noticed is that the page layout is too wide meaning that you have to scroll sideways unless you expand your browser to full view. Anyway to make this layout dynamic?

After login, a few icons are not aligned in the "my account" section. screen shot attached. I'm on a Macbook using Firefox 3.

You have my support in helping you QA everything.
