Default Completely Confused

I am running 68 classifieds version 4.1.5 and am running nustyle fluid templates. I have taken off fluid templates and ran purple templates and get the same result. If I choose not to have renewals through my admin, am i correct that when browsing my listings and selecting upgrade, this is where you are presented with the renew option. If this is true, I have selected not to have the renew option but am still presented with it when choosing the upgrade button. I have tried this with the admin off and logged in under a user name and vise versa and still get the renew option. I have read a lot of forums and havn't read or seen anything like this.

Default Upgrade

If the renew option is turned off and a customer hits the upgrade option on the browselisting page should a renewal option appear along with highlighted, bold etc? I don't understand why it is giving this option here when I have renewals turned off.

Hi, I understand your apparent confusion. But I think Larry already answered you: when you upgrade a listing you are adding things to it, like bold, feature, or whatever you have available in modules. However when you renew a listing, that only is made available to a person when their alloted time has run out.

If I am right you have renewals turned off with no price, with set to delete immediately, you should not get any renewal pointed.

But my question is why are you runing purple with the Fluid Templates ? It may be possible to see if you still get renewal links after you think you have turned it off -- does it also happen with the Fluid Template selected?

I would make sure that you have clearly defined the two separate functions as mentioned above.

Just trying to help :-)

Default Apologize

I do apologize for posting again instead of replying to the original post. Also, I dont mean to be a nuisance or to post repeat questions. Im just trying to understand this upgrade link that shows a renewal option box. I have number of days you would like expired listings to be deleted set to 0 and renewals set to no. My package renewal prices are set to 0. I DO understand that if renewals are set to yes and your add expires this is when the renewal link will appear. But I do not understand why the renewal option is present when selecting UPGRADE when renewals are set to off. I guess what Im looking for, is this right? I am just trying to understand the the renewal process so I understand how it works and also make sure it is functional. I have read and read and looked on the forum, also in the classifieds manual. I guess i'm stuck on stupid trying to understand this process. I very much appreciate your time and effort.

seymourjames has a spectacular aura about

I think this is what is meant. Its difficult to describe in a few words.

Click here to Renew or Upgrade

This actually means if you click here you can simply renew your ad without upgrading it or you could renew it and upgrade it at the same time.

Click here to (Renew) or (Renew and Upgrade)

I use the parenthesis to show precedence. That is how I understand it.

Something however is wrong if you are being presented with the option to renew if renewals are set to NO. I cannot replicate this that you are given the link - Click here to Renew or Upgrade
