Would it be possible to allow advertisers the possibilty to attach files to an ad'? Clearly admins would need to be able to limit the choice to safe file types like .pdf, .doc or .xls.

I can see the dangers in allowing executable files but there are advantages in allowing users of certain target-specific sites the ability to attach, for example, C.V.s, Quotations, Reports, Spreadsheets etc.

Michael,

This isn't a built in function and would require additional files to be written. It could certainly be done within a module. I guess you would also have to incorporate some type of virus scanning on the web server as well in order to make it "safer".

FYI: I understand what you are saying when you refer to "safe type files."
In the list that you posted: .pdf, .doc or .xls

.pdf - supports weblinks, java and javascript which can all lead to "unsafe activity" on both the end users local computer as well as auto direct to unsafe internet locations either in the background or through a browser.

.doc and .xls - also supports weblinks, VBA and scripting (macros and such) leading to the same thing as noted above.

Actually this is possible using extra fields. Just use the "new text option" button then select "File Upload" in the type selection.

Sorry it is kind of hidden.
