I am very happy with 68C, but I cant change my themes through the admin panel. The command makes the change through admin, but the change doesnot propogate through the site.

There's the possibility that you may have changed the template through the use of the purple template at one point and that sets a cookie in your browser.
Delete that cookie and you should be good to go. It should be listed as your site and template. You can also set the cookie yourself by simply visiting yoursite.com/index.php?template=yourtemplatename -Mike
