Default Availability Calendar

Im looking for availability calendar mod, I found this guy that says he can do it for $200, www.rentcalendars.com.

Maybe with better php MySQL knowledge could contact him about making this a module for 68, and ask him some detailed questions about this integration.
I would be happy to contribute to the cost towards the making on this mod.
Thanks
Glenn...

Q's I would ask
1/ Full integration to system member system
2/ Multi availability calendars for members that have multi listings
3/ The availability calendar to be displayed on the listing page

At one time I had looked into making a calender module and there were a couple very good free java based calendars out there. My idea was to simply tie in calendar dates to each ad and have them store in a new table but have the fields tied to the ad. This way when a person wanted to modify a date they would just go into modifiy thier own ad, select dates to change and upon submission the DB table holding the dates would be updated as well.

On the front end, the user would see a small interactive calendar showing dates etc which could be moved forward/backward in month and year.

The link you provided looks more like a stand alone product and I dont think would integrate as well, but thats just my opinion.

I got laid off after starting to look at this as a module and have since found a new job but already have a couple projects on my plate and I need to get up to speed on a few things for my new job so currently dont have the time to follow up on it.

Hi, thanks for the reply, this guy has 2 availability calendar systems on the go, under different sites, both are made using smarty php.

I thought that we could club together and pay this guy to make it a standard 68 feature, I sure that the investment for a availability calendar would see a lot more sales for 68.

I think I few of us would pay you to finish your java availability calendar.

Please tell me you thoughts
Thanks
Glenn....

I am also looking for a calendar. Sounds like a good idea.
Please let me know if you are still doing it.

At this point making our own caledar module, where people log into out site to manage their calendar, shile nice and all seems a bit redundant. I came back and looked at doing this, checked out what other calendar products where available and thats when I opted to create my google calendar module.

Googles calendars are free and powerful and have various export and sync options. From a client standpoint they are also not directly chained to your site. In other words if someone is using google calendar and they decide to no longer use your service they retain their calendar and all its data.

Wanting to keep people under your thumb may be wise from a 68C site owner perspective, but as a client I dont like being forced to do anything.

Anyway my google calendar module simply allows people to keep track of events on their google calendar and have the calendar embedded in their 68C ad.
