Post Google Calendar Module

Description

Allows 68C site admins to allow users to place Google Calendars inline with their ads.

Management and creation of the calendar is up to the client to create and manage via Googles website. This module simply allows this calendar to be displayed inline with their 68C ad.

Have you logged into google calendars and checked out the functionality available with google calendars?

This module allows your ad posters to embed THEIR OWN google calendar into THEIR OWN ad.

What that means is that you customer goes to google, creates a calendar for the cottage the are advertising. They place an ad on your site entering their calender code and when someone views their ad they see the ad posters google calendar in the ad. They can go forward and backward by month and year.

The person/company who placed the ad on you site, now logs into google and they fill in dates on their google calendar when their cottage is either available or booked, its up to them how they want to do it and these changes are directly visible on the calendar displayed in the ad on your site.

Maybe so, but its just that extra step of having to sign up and log in with google.
Thank you, I will think about it. Ideally I would prefer an 68classifieds mod that works with the users account without having to use external sources.

How is it an extra step?

Once someone places an ad on your site there really isnt any reason they should need to go back to your site. The exception would be to update a calendar and if there is a calendar to update they have to maintain it somewhere, your site OR googles but when they update the calendar at google they still have no reason to login to your site so there are no additional steps.

Scenario #1 the calendar is managed on your site.

The place an ad and every time the calendar changes they have to log into you site to keep it up to date.

Scenario #2 the calendar is a google calendar.

They place an ad at your site and log into google to keep calendar updated.

There is no extra step and in actuality, if you client uses microsoft outlook to maintain their calendar they wont even have to log into google, they can sync them from their PC.

Its a tough decision, ideally I would like users to go back to my website, potential sales & more traffic etc.

Not many people will know or want to open a google account, that is what I mean by step #2, more work for the user. setp #1 they first need to place an ad on my site, step #2 they now need to sign up with google and open a calendar...

Thanks for your response.
