I've been asked these questions a few times and although I gave a good knowledgeable response I'm not sure if it's accurate so here we go.

Question 1: After an ad expires does it automatically delete from the system or just change status.

Question 2: When a membership expires is there a way to renew it automatically or does it need to be done manually?

Question 3: On the my store I noticed the SEO mod does not include these urls. Is there a way to include the Stores into the SEO.

The ad renawal E-mails, status changes and finally deletion are handled automatically by the scripts. HOWEVER since the scripts are web based someone has to visit the site to trigger the script. When the script in question is run it checks for ads that are about to expire and sends renewal e-mails if enabled. It also will change the status of ads that have expired to expired and then (if I remember right) after an ad has been expired for 7 days it will be deleted. All of these things of course rely on the fact that someone visits the site.

As the script is delivered it has to be done manually. Im sure the script that changes the status from valid to expired could be modified to automatically renew the ads. How easy that would be however may be influenced by if the ad was free or not etc.

Where there is a will, there is a way. Unfortunatly just how to accomplis it at the moment I cant say for certain. I will try and take a look at it this week and see if I can come up with something. If not I am sure Eric will add in this functionality.

I remember when 'memberships' was in development, the 'renewal' aspect was raised. I am the guilty party who suggested that 'renewal' is not required. I still maintain this. Your 'membership benefits' will probably change from time to time so you may not want to lock in these over the long term. When it expires, the user can purchase another membership. They may be different memberships or the same type of memberships. Also, think of a magazine subscription - you subscribe for 12 months. When it expires, you purchase another subscription.

Importantly, if a membership expires or a membership is deleted from the system, it does not effect any 'listings' that has come via this membership - listings are retained until 'they' expire or are deleted.
