Hi, we have a project posted on scriptlance to modify the script design to meet our needs. The programmer needs the script to review it. How can I protect my rights to the script and protect any id or passwords against any fraud.
It has the license key, my host name and password located in a folder called connections with these files classifieds.php and index thanks Rick Last edited by mcrsinc; 03-17-2008 at 08:34 PM. |

The license key is proprietary to the domain, so I wouldn't be concerned about that. You could use phpmyadmin (If your host provides that) and create a new username and password for the classifieds database access. Change it to that in your classifieds.php file. When your developer is done, you can change the file back to your original username and password and delete the temporary username and password you created for him/her.
And, of course make sure that you have a complete backup of the existing files and database. If they just need to be able to look at the code to decide if it is something that they can work with or not, than they shouldn't your Connections directory to assess. Then once you have an agreement, do what I previously stated. -Mike

Be sure to back up your entire database and website to be on the safe side. After he's done change your administrator passwords.
