Default template will not budge off default

I have moved my horse green template to my site now, it shows up on the main settings page along with default and purple. 2 days ago i was able to change back and forth from purple to default. now no matter if I put purple or horse green it still comes up as the default template. Yes I am pressing submit every time and it shows settings saved. I check the site and still the same thing. My friend who builds websites looked and cannot figure it out as well. Any ideas what is going on with it.

have you tried clearing the contents of the folder /templates_c?

Also are you sure you didnt over write all the template folders with the default?

thanks, actually I just realized I posted under the v3 catagory. I have the v4 and the template is the v4 as well. I did get the problem fixed. It was a computer problem (or should I say the operator!) not the template.
