Default Admin Area not working.

Hola,

Just bought Dev Edition, and it installed fine. The front end works great, but when i go to the admin/index.php page, the page hangs and does not load at all....

The admin/login page loads, and accepts my username and password and says it is redirecting me, but it never does, it hangs.

I don't think this is an ioncube problem, b/c if it was then i wouldn't be able to install the script right???

Any help would be appreciated as i wait for a support ticket response.

Thanks!
Gianni.

Try uploading the /administration folder and its contents again.

Have you checked your servers error log to see if there are any clues there?

hmm..the error log says that the files do not exist, yet i see them on my host.
Could the files i have downloaded be corrupt?...i have tried to reinstall everything 3 times now with no luck.

They could be corrupt or more likely its the permissions of the admin folder.

grrrr....this is starting to get annoying.

Lhotch, how can it be permissions if I can use the login.php page. I can login, but i cant get past that. It's like it can't read or unencrypt the index.php script....but the loaders are installed and work.

Still waiting for support to get back to me, it's been a few days now. Hopefully i can give them my login and pw for my server and they can figure it out....

****UPDATED****
Just got this from my host...

Hi G,
We do support ioncube. The server your account is currently on has
ionCube PHP Loader v3.1.32.

So it can't be ioncube, b/c it works!

Thanks!
Gianni.

Did you ever figure this out, Gianni?

I'm having the exact same issue with a V4 developer copy I installed this morning. The classifieds portion of the site is working fine and I can get to the admin log-in screen, but once I log in and see the "being forwarded" message, I get a blank page. Trying to directly access any of the other pages in the /administration/ folder gives the same result.

I checked my apache error log and I have a bunch of these where I tried to access any page in the administration folder:

"[notice] child pid 5144 exit signal Bus error (7)"

Not sure if this has anything to do with your problem since I'm running ver 4RC9 in a sandbox VM, not a live 3.1 site. I searched the error above and most results had something to do with PHP version compatibilities. I'm going to try to dig a little deeper when I have more time....hoping it's just something really simple that I missed.

My guess would be that your host is using a version of php, or a php module that has a bug. You could check your hosts version of php and you error in the php bug traker at php.net and see if you can find something.

Thumbs up

Hey Racingjon,

I ended up changing hosts, and now i am up an running, no problem. My old host was running php 4.4.x, with Zend ioncube installed....it is def a server side problem, not a script error...i have a feeling it is the ioncube loader, and a conflict with 4.4.x...that's why i think some things work and others don't...the php.ini file was clean from what I saw.

I tried everything from permissions, re-installs to modifying both PHP.INI and my .htaccess file with no luck. Even tried adding php to every folder, nadda. My host couldn't figure it out (not that they were alot of help anyway, every person i spoke too didn't even know much on php).

Quick tip: If you want to add your php.ini file to every folder under your classifieds, create a .ini file on the root (you can name it anything), and add the following code to your .ini file:

<pre><?php system("find . -type d|xargs -i cp --verbose php.ini {}/."); ?></pre>COMPLETE!

Then run it from the root of where your classifieds are installed:

i.e -- http://www.yoursite.com/filename.ini

This should copy php.ini to all folders under the main....

Anyhoo, new host is running php 5.2.x. Had a little error with the loaders, but that was a quick fix....getting hash errors, but that's no biggie...

Honestly, it's one of those things that will never be solved i think, just upgrade!!!!

I think ionCube PHP Loader v3.1.32 for php 4.4.x is screwy....
