Can I add extra fields to user registration settings

Hi there all!

My first post and my first time working with 68 classifieds. . .so far enjoying it

First the technical stuff:

68 classifieds v.3.1.10
Designer Edition
My php skills are novice, but I can follow directions well . . I have modified osCommerce sites with great success. . .(by following directions, I am not a php developer by any means)

Couple questions:

1) Can I add extra fields to the user registration settings? Ex. Company Profile etc.

2) Can I allow new user to upload photo for profile?

3) Can I possibly only make these features noted above only available for a price or for a certain membership package?

As you can probably deduct I am trying to allow users to provide a more detailed profile that is accessible via their username link that is displayed on each of their listings.

I only have the designer edition, I guess I'm not sure how much modifying I can do with this edition. . .for instance, can I install any mods or new modules with this edition, or do I need to upgrade to developer. . I'm under the impression the developer edition is for hard core software modifying.

there are extra fields for user registration that you can make use of.

For images and a brief description about a seller you can make use of the user store module. By default if installed anyone can use it however you could probably set something up where you create a new user groups and then at the template level check for this group of users and only allow them to use it.

There wouldnt be an automated way to charge them for using the feature however.

I have 3 extra fields there by default that look like text fields, not really a text box so to speak for lengthy verbage.

For images and a brief description about a seller you can make use of the user store module.

My site is pretty default, in my admin when I look at the Modules section, it comes up none installed. . however I do see folders for things like the store and member reviews on the server.

I'm not expecting detailed instructions, and I didn't see anything in the user manual or knowledge base (though admittedly I did not POUR over them. . I've been in the forum here for better part of the day reading) but perhaps you could point me in the proper direction of a thread or a link where I could find out how to "install" these features.

Provided the seller store mod is actually in the folders under modules on your site then once logged into admin, click the link to manage modules. Then the "regenerate" link above the table that lists the modues and it should pick up all modules that are on the server and copied into /modules folder.

From there it should appear in the list of modules for you to install and activate. Also if you look a bit deeper at the folder on your server that hold the modules there are usually readme files that tell you how to install and make use of each module.
