Default Ooops! Catastrophic template failure!

I'd been working on my template, commenting out sections, editing and then deleting those commented out sections when appropriate. Everything was looking great so I deleted the final section of commented out code and went to bed.

Unfortunately my front end does not display at all now!

I do have backups but they are a few days old and I'd need to recreate quite a bit of work. I'll do that of course but I was wondering if anyone would care to take a look at my attached layout.tpl file to see if there is some obvious mistake I cannot spot.

Perhaps I dragged my cursor a bit too far and deleted a </div> tag or something . . .? Please don't spend too much time on this, it's my own stupid mistake and I'll put it right if I have to.

Looks to me like you have solved it but I do notice the footer is not centred across the page still. The blue bar needs to be a set as a css background image that repeats and the content below it should be centred aswell.

In general you are using tables when I look at your source and you are probably better off using css for your footer area and the layout in general.

Well a few things stand out to me, you have two instances of a div with declaration id's for wrapper, header and sidebar.

In CSS you can not use an ID ("#") more than once on a page unlike a class (".") which can be used several times. I don't know if removing those will resolve your issue, but it certainly needs to be corrected.

Hi David
Actually, what you're seeing is a patched up backup, I'd got things a bit more advanced before I screwed up.
