Title tag assistance required please

Hi everyone,
Im using the hosted version of v4.1.8 68 classifieds. as im trying to amend the title tags for good SEO, I came accross an old post of mine for changing the title tag (as shown below), which worked at the time but now im on this new version of 68 classifieds it does not seem to work anymore am i missing something ? or does it just not work on this version ?

There are several posts on this subject. If you positioned the code in the header correctly I do not see why it would not work. I often test not on $body but on $SCRIPT_NAME and page titles. e;g.

{if $SCRIPT_NAME == "/viewlisting.php"}
blabla

{if $SCRIPT_NAME == "/searchresults.php"}
bla bla

{if $title == "Pxxxxxxx"}
bla bla


To make this all work completely for every page in a site requires a lot of work and quite a few smarty assignments. Its a good couple of hundred lines of code. If you email me, I will let you have an example which may be useful to you as a template on what to do.

I needed to include the main file name aswel EG: viewlisting/viewlisting.tpl
well it works anyway

Good stuff. Were you working in the root or a subdomain? Sure it is not the template name/viewlisting.tpl ?
