Default How to add a message into checkout step 3

Hello,
Sorry this is so basic, I cannot find the exact instructions in a prior post.

I would like to add a short "tip" message to our customers at the top of step 3.
I have gone into my template file/ evo-charcoal2, checkout then into step3.tpl
Is this the right file or should I go into step 3 of the default template?
Either way I could not get my message to show up.

Where would I need to enter this to have it show up?

Assistance with this is GREATLY appreciated.

Chris

68c uses a tiered template structure. It will look for a template file in the current template folder if it doesnt exist it will use the template file in the default folder.

I always recommend copying the default template files that are needed by 3rd party templates into the 3rd party template folder, just keeps things cleaner so you know what files have been edited etc.

Good advice. You need to edit the step3;tpl files that we supply in each color template folder. Also then clear your cookies, browser cache and the delete the contents of your templates_c folder except the index file contained within it.

I am presuming here that you are not using the multiple image uploader but the regular checkout process?

Thank so much for the information.
I am using the multi image uploader that came with template codes.
I am only using one color of template.

Does this change the instructions?

Chris

Yes. It is the module you will need to edit. However, this module is particularly complex and you should be careful when making edits.
