I'm not quite understanding what you have done. Are you saying that you have already created a page in your classifieds site, but want it to redirect to your forums which is installed in a separate directory?

Why not just add a link in your menu that goes directly to your forums site?

If all you want is a link in the navigation section of your site, dont create an extra page, just edit your layout.tpl template and add a link to your forum.

Delete that page that you created in your admin and just hard code a link into your navigation section of your layout.tpl file like this.
Find the following (around line 99):
HTML Code:
<li><a href="{$smarty.const.URL}/search.php">{$smarty.const.LANG_TPL_SEARCH}</a></li>
Then add another line like this:
HTML Code:
<li><a href="http://yoursite.com/forums/">Forums</a></li>
There you go!
