Default Template help - Only Looks correct in MSIE 6&7

I created a new template, trying to achieve a newspaper look. Lots to go yet.
I'll explain my problem the best I can since I'm no programmer.

I created the template using frontpage and it links to images I created and installed into my new template "images" folder for my basic layout. (Yeah frontpage and W2K are old, but it's there and handy.)

MaloneAds.com - will have to view to see what I mean. Each division of tables is off at the bottom area. ( I have no-clue as to what I just said..LOL)

So.....All the tables are created with-in frontpage - no CSS because I don't know it enough to create tables that way. So my basic layout uses no CSS at all for it's look (borders etc, the banners are temporary until I use an ad rotator ). I only edited the CSS for certain looks with default font styles etc. The problem is my template only looks good on MSIE 6&7 not on many other browsers.

Is there certain html settings for the tables I need to change to make it line up properly.

Thanks in advance.
Randy

I remember there is a trick to doing this but I can't remember exactly what it is. I would maybe try adding a height of 15 to the td and see if that makes a difference.

HUH? I got lots of td's .................if your meaning the black borders, I believe they are all set to 15. That's the height I made my "corner" images is why.

I'll double check though.

Sorry. When I view it in Firefox it seems the bottom corners are not aligned properly.

Here is the bottom left corner of the top table:
<td width="15" valign="bottom"><img width="15" height="15" border="0" src="/templates/bnw/images/bot_lft__in_corner.jpg"/>

</td>

Try adding a height there.

Thanks Eric.

I tried the first suggestion, no go....... I will try this suggestion next.

Your webpage link for the tutorial is exactly how I created my inside corners.

I'll report back with my findings. Still open to suggestions.

Keep in mind that front page is a microsoft product and as such it will most likely favor pages displayed with a MS product such as IE and since IE isnt standards compliant your pages wont be either.

No go with any of the suggestions.....

Lhotch, are there any free simple editors that you would recommend for making templates? Or at least cheep?

Thanks,
Randy

LOL I searched and was actually installing as I came back to check this thread.

I'm going to try it out even if I have to redesign my template.

Thanks Larry...if it's okay I call you by your name.
