Default Modifying the default template in v4.

In lieu of this older downloadable document for version 4.0.x, I have now posted a new article on my blog for Modifying the default v4.1.x. You can visit this article directly with this link.

UPDATE NOTE: Please bear in mind that this document is for version 4.0.x of the 68 Classifieds software script. Although much of the information in the document is still valid, some things have changed, in particular, changing the logo to an image is now a built in function as of v4.1.x although you can still do it manually.

Greetings,

I've been using 68 Classifieds for over year now. It's the best classifieds software that I've found anywhere and I can tell you, that I've looked at quite a lot of them. Now since the new version 4 is out, there has been even more people coming to the same conclusion about the software.

I am posting this document, "68c_v4_mod_template.pdf" for free to the group. It is my contribution to give back to the 68c community. It is my hope that this will help those that are new to 68 Classifieds as well as those that are upgrading from the v3.x.

This is an excerpt from an e-Book that I am working on and will be releasing in the future. This excerpt covers the basic default layout in version 4. It explains how the HTML, CSS work together and most importantly, how you can change the logo at the top to your logo as well as the footer information to your information.

I hope that you will find this useful. Feel free to post any comments, suggestions or questions that you may have regarding this document in this thread.

Sincerely,
-Mike

Wink autodealersx.com

Whoope Mike, I wrote the wrong url. I am building autodealersx.com, NOT fla-autodealersx.com. I intend to point the latter to autodealersx once I get it set up properly. I had purchased a script from ESVON products for fla-autodealersx and it NEVER has worked properly. I am really enjoying the ease of setting up and using 68 classifieds...

Thanks again for your tutorial but I don;t know hoe to eliminate the purple border around the logo.

Thanks...

I still didn't see it in Safari on a Mac, but checked it in Firefox. What you are seeing is a border around the image because the image is a link. Just add border="0" to the end of your img declaration.
<img src="blah.img" border="0">

That should solve your issue.

Default Thank you

I never thanked you for this. We used it to change the Horse-Green template. What do you think?
