Default The best way to make "New Listings" The Home page

Hey all,
I'm really hoping to make the New Listings Page the Home Page (so its accessible from index.html)

Is there any advice to get this happening?

I was thinking about including the New Listings Plugin inside the Home Page code itself but it didn't seem to function as I was hoping, I still want it to include the pagination and between 20-25 items per page.

My web site is Performance Central - Free Performance Parts Classified

Thanks for all your help.

This is how I would go about it from scratch but to be frank there is a module to do this anyway.

It is going to be more involved than this but make start by copying toplistings.php and call it index.php then you will need to also assign the contents of home.tpl to that new index.php file using similar code to what was in the old index.php file. Of course that home page content will appear on every page so you will need to work out what page you are on.

Alternatively why not use a module to do it like latest listings module Latest Listings With CSS Horizontal Listings Pack . It displays one page of new listings only but you could adapt it to show further pages alot more easily than trying to do the above and get it working smoothly. You would then iframe the latest listings from your site into itself.

Thanks for your awesome advice, I ended up scanning the Index.php file and noticed that it references the home.tpl file as a class assign.

I was able to carefully copy the "Top Listings" .tpl page into a new one called index.tpl. I then just told the index.php to reference the index.tpl file instead.

Thanks very much again for the advice

Not sure what you mean as there is no toplistings.tpl page but if whatever you did works then great.
