Default Extraneous blank lines in editing view:

060811
EXTRANEOUS BLANK LINES IN EDITING VIEW:

When editing pages in Page Editor everytime I hit a single soft or hard return and save then several addtional blank lines are added (while in editing view only) when I return for additional editing. There are now 6+ blank lines between lines of content.

OUR VIEW: If I don't delete all the blank lines immediatley then the next time I edit the content the blank lines have multiplied. It doesn't show up in the saved page except in edit view. I end up spending more time editing out the extraneous blank lines than I do tweaking the actual content.

CLIENTS VIEW: The same thing happens when we test for setting up/registering a new account. A client's long description has the same extraneous lines and it look very messy. And, in THIS case the extra lines DO show up in the live page.

Ex: (in edit view)

This is a line of contentv (one hard return)
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
This is another line of content (one hard return)
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
blank line
This is another line

If I remove ALL spaces and lines and bunch everything into a large single block of content it works fine. But, it makes it much more difficult to edit this way and our clients shouldn't have to work this hard.

You can see above how quickly this could get very annoying esp. if you have several paragraphs requirig hard returns. And most importantly for our potential clients.

(Again, the extra lines DO NOT show up in live view when WE edit. They DO show up in live view when the client edits his long description.)

Pls advise.
Thanx.

Again, you need to provide your basic information... What version of 68 Classifieds are you using and what template are you using? In this case, are you using any modules that are used for editing???

What long description are you referring to in the registration??? There is no description in a user's registration.

Can you reproduce this in our demo? I gave it a shot and didn't seem to reproduce this issue.

Doesn't sound like a current version to me - what does it say in your admin dashboard then? post a link to your registration page and lets see if it is a browser issue.

VERSION: v4.2.3 Developer / Default template

DEMO: No it doesn't happen in the demo which is why i"m so befuddled. I've worked with other online editors and I've never seen this before. Is it possibly a corrupted file somehow/somewhere?

LOCATION OF PROBLEM: You are correct. My mistake. It happens NOT in new account reg. but when adding an item IN THE LONG DESCRIPTION.

I could hope perhaps its simply a corrupted file and can be easilly replaced. I'd rather do that than spend lots of time tweaking the current issue. If this is faster, simpler in your opinion, pls direct me to the location/file name.

Pls advise. Thanx again.

My recommendation is to put in a ticket and ask nicely that they confirm your install has been done correctly. It seems like you have multiple issues given the number and rapidity of posts. One of the things you may like to consider is to just stop at this point and read the documentation thoroughly. A considerable effort was put into producing it and in general the answers to many questions can be found in it. I do not say this sarcastically but it will answer questions for you about paypal and payment gateways etc.
