Question Is it Possible to have Custom Category Page Titles?

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
v4.1.2 Developer

What template are you using?
Default

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:

Thanks in advance to anyone who has comments/suggestions. I've been trying hard lately to improve my sites SEO, and one of the issues i've come across with the 68Classifieds software is the process of creating a new Category.

Admin Panel>Categories>Manage Categories

Once you have selected ADD NEW, the first field to fill in is TITLE. This field is then used throughout the site to identify that category. My one disappointment with this is that the TITLE field is also used as the PAGE TITLE in conjunction with the SITE TITLE field in (Settings>Main Settings). I think it would be better if there was an additional field for that Category, called Page Title whereby you have the option of giving that subsequent Category Page (eg. the CARS category) a more descriptive Page Title as this would also affect the hundreds of possible pages that would be created when users posts ads under that category

A decent Page Title (plus keywords/page description/relevant text/headers) could really help for my inner pages to be picked up by Search Engines as relevant to searches and i would love to have this as an option

Example:

Current Page Title for 'Cars' category and ads within that category would be:

(Whatever you set as SITE TITLE) >> Cars

Ideally, it should be (eg.):

(Whatever you set as SITE TILE) >> New and Used Cars for Sale in (country name)

However, currently this isn't really possible. I have done some tests, but if i were to enter the TITLE field in a Category as (eg.):

New and Used Cars for Sale in (country name), then it WOULD give the desired Page Title i'm after BUT it would also insert the TITLE in the dropdown menus on:

/usercheckout.php
(when the user goes to Place An Ad)

and

/search.php
(when the user goes to select a Category to Search)

This ends up with long looking/confusing categories and really isn't ideal.

I really do like the 68Classifieds software, it's been excellent so far. If there is a solution to have independent Page Titles for Categories and posted ads within that category I would really appreciate a bit of advice

Thanks again in advance!

What you are asking for is quite an involved and therefore expensive process to undertake. It takes the best part of a day to modify the script to have full control over all page titles, meta descriptions and link labels. This is not advertising below but trying to show you what is involved in performing onsite SEO:
